FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. [vi] + 106 pp. Bound in original red cloth, with black titles, in pictorial unclipped dust wrapper, with edge chips and small tears at head and tail of spine, which is sunned. Lower board edges darkened. Scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated throughout by cartoons. Decorated by title page vignette and by publisher''s device on verso of title. Humorous cartoons featuring the training and adventures of Aircraftsman 'Plonk.' By cartoonist William Hooper (1916-96), who served on the ground staff. He also jointly devised the character of Pilot Officer Prune, used for pilot instructional purposes. At the end is a two page glossary of terms used in the book.
