Small 8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. 43 + [3] pp. In pictorial stiff card boards, in matching price clipped dust wrapper, with a little wear at tail of spine. Minor edge wear and foxing largely confined to flyleaves and edges; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 64 pages of black and white photographic plates and by text figures. King Penguin collection of the photographs of the thirteenth and fourteenth century sculpture and decoration (chiefly roof bosses and corbels to support vaulting) of Exeter Cathedral. The work of Charles John Philip Cave (1871-1950), meteorologist, architectural historian of ecclesiastical buildings and photographer of their roof carvings.
