Notes

The first part of this book was printed in the journal Signature. Oliver Simon (1895-1956) was an accomplished book designer and typographer who became director of the Curwen Press, originally established in 1863. The Press was associated with many famous artists and graphic designers of the day, including John Piper, Paul Nash and Edward Bawden. It went into receivership in 1984 but was revived again in 2011.
