Illustrated by 16 pages of colour plates, 134 text figures and by genealogical tables. Account of the life of the antiquarian, Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick (1783-1848) and of the house he had built, Goodrich Court, Herefordshire. He was a collector and a pioneer of the systematic study of arms and armour, publishing the authoritative three volume work, A Critical Inquiry into Antient Armour in 1824.
